The Rescue Positioning Device (RPD) from DBI-SALA doubles as a work positioning system, giving you on-site flexibility to perform confined space rescue work if or to simply secure yourself in position while working at heights; saving you time by avoiding awkward and bothersome tying-off.
The Rescue Positioning System sports a simple visual indicator to show if the pulley is locked or in travel mode. Once locked off a simple tug of the line will get you moving again. The whole system is easy to use and requires no special training, the user can even raise and lower themselves if needed (you can even purchase an optional rope grab device to help with this).
Completely pre-assembled the system comes in a simple yet durable carry bag, the pulley system is already roped and fixed in place securely too. All you need to do is attach the rig to an appropriate anchor point (via the strap or carabiner which come in the package) and you are ready to go. This speedy set up makes the Rescue Positioning System ideal for confined space rescue and other emergency work.
There are two different pulley configurations available for this work positioning line. A 3:1 and 4:1 mechanical advantage are on offer, giving you the option of speed or efficiency and pulling power; you can choose whichever suits your site better. The pulley system also features a built in speed sensing brake that will activate in the event that the user lose control of the RPD to arrest the fall.
(It is important to note that this Rescue Positioning System is just that, a positioning system, and it is not a piece of fall arrest equipment; for complete OSHA compliance while working a self-retracting lifeline or traditional lanyard should also be used and secured to an appropriate anchor point.)
Fully corrosion resistant and hard wearing the RPD is built to the traditionally high DBI-SALA standards. The system is completely powder-coated to prevent exposure to air and each of the parts is built from less-corrosive materials (anodized aluminum or stainless steel) making it a great choice for use on even the most highly corrosive work sites.
Professionals across a range of industries will find this work positioning harness an excellent and flexible addition to their work at heights or confined space kit. Construction workers, roofers, arborists (tree care professionals), oilrig gas and refinery engineers, even the merchant navy will find this kit bag will help you and your team get the job done more easily.
Ordering Data for Rescue-Positioning Device Systems
1. Specify Model: 3600000 with 3:1 Ratio OR 3602000 with 4:1 Ratio
2. Specify Rope Footage as calculated below:
For 3600000, multiply working travel length by 4 and add 10 feet.
For 3602000, multiply working travel length by 5 and add 10 feet.
For example, if you have a working length of 30 feet and wanted a 3:1 ratio, you would multiply 30FT x 4 and add 10FT to arrive at 130FT. This would be part number 3600130.
