Petzl started out making harnesses for caving and rock climbing in the 60’s, and have been innovating ever since, so you can be sure there are years of expertise behind every product they make. The VERTEX VENT safety helmet is no exception, coming with a wealth of comfort and personalization options inside of its durable and safe shell.
The tough main shell protects against impact (via deformation); the helmet meets and exceeds a whole suit of safety standards on this matter (see below). While the chinstrap keeps the helmet in place, so should you have a fall, you will stay protected.
Helmets are crucial for many types of work these days: tree care, confined spaces, on-site rescue, technical rescue, framing and roofing, for example. Whatever you are working on, you want to stay protected, but you shouldn’t have to suffer for your work. That is why the VERTEX VENT has been designed for comfort and prolonged use.
An adjustable head-strap allows you to get a custom fit (easily adjustable, even if you are wearing gloves), or you have the option of inserting a custom stiff headband, too.
The interior webbing system can be adjusted in terms of both height and width, so you have another option to get the perfect fit while you are working.
As the name implies, the VENT helmet does indeed have a ventilation system, complete with shutters so you can tailor the amount of air you get to your head; if you need to stay cool and calm this ventilated helmet will help no end. Although the ventilation does mean that the helmet doesn’t meet all safety standards regarding electrical insulation or protection from molten metals.
On top of the safety and comfort features in the helmet itself, the VERTEX VENT features a whole range of slots, clips and mounts for you to attach whatever you need: a set of four clips is in place so you can attach a headlamp of some kind; on the side of the helmet you have slot for attaching ear-defenders or headphones should you need them, and at the front the kit allows you to attach some further protective gear (welding masks etc).
(The Vertex VENT is safety helmet is available in six different colors: yellow, white, red, black, orange and blue).
