Advanced Basic Hoist System
The Advanced Basic Hoist System from UCL Safety Systems and Capital Safety is a lightweight, collapsible hoist system for confined space access, entry and retrieval. With the option of a 40-foot basic winch, the Basic Hoist System is a great alternative to a tripod and has everything you need to get set up on site quickly.
A wide base (63" in diameter) allows its use on most common work sites and makes it perfectly suitable for manhole entry. The mast height is adjustable, up to 2.3m (approx. 7.5 ft.), and provides a flexible anchorage solution for a Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL), lanyard or other fall protection equipment when needed.
What makes this the ‘advanced’ Basic Hoist is that the base is collapsible, making it ideal for transport between sites; folding down, without the need to use any tools, making it easy to carry or set up the hoist when needed.
Weighing only 58lbs (23.6kg) the system is lightweight for a hoist package, making it perfect for rapid transport to a work site and a good back-up system for your team's confined space rescue system should you need one.
The hoist davit arm can be adjusted via a single base screw (again: no tools needed) allowing you to adjust the angle of the arm and meet any site-specific requirements, quickly and easily.
Built from strong aluminum the Basic Hoist System can handle a fall force of up to 5000lbs, while the winch mast itself can take a load up to 620lbs in weight. Making it an ideal solution for fall arrest or equipment/personnel transport equally.
The aluminum construction is zinc-powder coated to offer extra corrosion resistance making the system suitable for even the harshest of work sites.
The Hoist Package comes complete with a Basic Winch: This offers a 40-foot line, of 3/16” galvanized steel; plenty of line for the vast majority of confined space work. This features double ratchet pawls, giving you a constant braking system that allows for simple, instant work positioning. This is built from heavy-duty materials making it a sturdy piece of kit, resistant to the harsh knocks of industrial life.
